Sylvia Sharpe

d. April 25, 2023

It was during quarantine and I was reading outside on our trampoline and Sylvia climbed onto it with me. I went and picked some dandelions and made her a little flower crown because she’s my little princess. We found Sylvia at our old house the last day we were there and we caught her and brought her to our new home.

Sylvia was very sick when we got her so I had to nurse her back to health. When she was still a kitten she was an inside cat but one day she got out and I was worried she was gone forever. Then that night I went out to look for her and found her under the porch, and I was the only one able to get her out. She was a lot smaller than a normal cat, but she made up for it with how sassy and tough she was. She was always out “hunting” in the woods.

Sylvia would only let let me be around her and didn’t like anyone else. She was a very loving and sweet cat and loved to be held and cuddled, and have her little forehead kissed. She had two little freckles on her nose.  When I would get home from school she’d jump on my car and wait for me to get out, and in the mornings she would come by my window and wake me up, and would always follow me around. Sylvia used to come with me into the chicken pen, and go with me to get mail. She was with me wherever I went

We always said she was sent by my great grandma to look after me (we were very very VERY close and she passed right before we had to move and it was a overall very difficult time in my life because of this and other things). The last thing she got me before her passing was a small tuxedo cat stuffed animal and once we got Sylvia my mom said she was sent by my grandma to look after me during a tough time in my life because I wouldn’t have her anymore.

She meant the world to me and I am so thankful for the time I had with her. Now Sylvia and my grandmother are together and I’m sure they love each other as much as I loved them.

I miss my baby!

Love, Mom.
