Amelia Anderson/Truett

August, 2011 – May 24, 2023

Amelia Anderson-Truett, a member of “The Gang of Six” (a tiny little division of the City of Cayce House of Cats), was lovingly euthanized on May 24, 2023 after having endured symptoms of FIP. She was 12 years old.

Amelia was preceded in death by her sister, Jacque. She leaves behind the remaining 4 “Gangsters” - brothers Blackie, Doolittle, and Lindbergh, and sister Arabella - as well as the remaining members of the CHOC household.

Amelia’s story started before she was born. In the Summer of 2011, we were feeding a pregnant tabby female on our back porch. She gave birth to 6 kittens at a neighbor’s home down the street. A few weeks later, she decided to move the litter to our back porch. During her move, we found two of the kittens under a rose bush in the back yard. One of those kittens was Amelia. She is named after Amelia Earhart - the first woman to fly solo nonstop across the Atlantic.

Amelia was the kitty version of “Florence Nightingale”. She was always the one who would know if one of her housemates was not feeling well and she would stay close to keep an eye on them. She especially doted on Bear while he was ill and stayed with him until he passed. We have not witnessed a cat who showed such care and compassion.

A special thank you goes out to Amelia’s medical team at Sunset Animal Clinic and especially to her housemates Arabella, BooBoo Bear, and Frito - who kept her company during her last hours.

Amelia - Papa Stoney and Mama Valerie love you so very much and will miss our little nurse terribly.

Enjoy your journey across the Bridge. Your sister, Jacque, is waiting for you.

We will see you soon, sweet girl…
