Franz Brown

Franz, beloved cat, of the Brown family, crossed the Rainbow Bridge, November 25, 2022. He will be missed always.

Franz was born in late December, 2007 and was adopted into our family on February 14th, 2008. He very quickly grew from a tiny ball of fur into a twelve-pound Maine coon mix. He was extremely active as a kitten and young adult, and would get himself into trouble climbing up and into spaces. He would go after cat food cans in the trash if they weren't cleaned out properly, and, while living in Maryland, he once climbed into the basement rafters and forgot how to get back down to the floor. Despite his eventual size, Franz was extremely personable, oftentimes rolling over on his back in front of complete strangers and always coming up to greet visitors. Over the years, he helped to welcome three human children into our family, and while he had some misgivings about the new additions, he grew to become great friends with them as they got older. In the past year, he liked to help wake them up for school in the morning, leading the way to each kid's door. Franz is survived by his human family and his sister Brigit. We are grateful for the near-fifteen years in which he was a part of our family.
