XENA ABRAMS

In loving memory of Xena Abrams, our Warrior Princess. Xena came into our lives on December 31, 2016, she was six years old and living in a shelter in West Columbia. As we were viewing the pets up for adoption, XENA’s eyes kept following us as if to say we needed to take her home. She was correct, and we chose her.

We had no other pets at the time, but as the years passed XENA acquired two brothers. Jasper, a part pitbull mix, now seven years old came into our lives in 2018 and Bentley, a lab mix, who came into our lives in 2020 and is now fifteen years. XENA, in her gentle, hospitable nature accepted both graciously and the three of them got along fabulously.

Xena had a special bond with her Daddy Larry, and loved nothing better than their 5:30 AM walks. They would sometimes be gone for an hour and she would come back exhilarated from the experience. While home, she was always by his side. Zena’s health began to succumb to arthritis and kidney failure in the months preceding her passing. When her legs could no longer support her, Larry bought her a special vest with a handle to help her get around. As her name implies, XENA, the Warrior Princess, had a very strong will and would literally drag her body around to get where she wanted. Her sweet demeanor and strong will to live were an inspiration to us.

XENA crossed the Rainbow Bridge on January 30, 2026 and is no longer suffering. She will remain in our hearts forever, we love and miss her. Rest in peace, XENA.
